Honestly, I don't know if a ship would lose its air after a thousand years. Airtight should remain airtight, but a thousand years is a long time. Tiny punctures left by micrometeorites might be enough to do it. And so long as there is air inside, the materials would be subject to corrosion, right?

I think about these things, even when it comes to comics and comedy ;)
